WHAT ARE PREVENTIVE DENTAL TREATMENTS?
These are some treatments, easy to do, if done at early stage, prevent tooth from decaying. Few Treatments are-
1) Pit and fissure sealing-
This is very effective treatment. It prevents tooth decay by almost up to 60%. In this treatment, we seal all the pits and fissures on tooth as soon as it comes. We do it without drilling tooth. we have flowable sealant, we just flow it in pits and fissures of newly arrived tooth and make it hard with ultraviolet light. When we buy a new book, we cover it with paper cover, this treatment has similar way of action.
HOW MUCH TIME IS REQUIRED FOR PIT AND FISSURE SEALING?
For one tooth, we hardly need 5 minutes to do pit and fissure sealing.
WHEN TO GO FOR PIT AND FISSURE SEALING?
At the age of 6, child starts getting permanent teeth. Mostly we do this procedure for molars as soon as they erupt in mouth.
WHAT IS COST OF PIT AND FISSURE SEALING?
It is very economical procedure. It can cost you from Rs 500 to Rs 800 per tooth. Since it is very easy procedure, does not involve injection, very economical and very effective in reducing tooth decay, we highly recommend this treatment at our clinic.
2) Fluoride Treatment-
Fluoride application has also proved to protect teeth from decaying. In this procedure, we apply fluoride solution to teeth, which form protective fluorapatite on tooth, preventing tooth from decaying. Cost of this treatment ranges from Rs 500 to Rs 1500.
